Interior Design

I've always had a love for art.  I've never taken a painting class, never mind ever painted a masterpiece.  I was in high school show choir, but never sung a song worthy of a standing ovation.  Once I went to a dance class on "bring a friend" night, but I've never delivered a beautiful pirouette in perfectly laced ballet shoes and a tutu get-up during a Nutcracker performance.  Nevertheless, I am indeed...an artistic soul.

When I was thirteen, my parents let me decorate my bedroom...I remember sponge-painting those walls like it was the gosh darn White House.   Imagine my complete satisfaction in picking out bedding to perfectly match the light blue, green, and yellow so imperfectly painted on my walls.  Scooting and shoving furniture around the room to make a fresh new space still results in me sitting there staring at the finished product, smiling and being completely satisfied with myself.

I love interior design and fashion, among many other things.  In my mind, dressing yourself is similar to setting up an interior space.  Sometimes when I'm stuck on a design project, I close up shop and head for the mall to scope out the latest fashion, no doubt walking away with new inspiration and knowing for sure what style of dining furniture I should select or which color window treatments will tie the room together.  I'm just like that.

I've chosen interior design as a "profession" and just one outlet for using my God-given abilities.  In this blog you might see a design tip here and there, or a peak into a room I've designed, and that's cool.  But I'll be perfectly honest and say that design is not what I live and breathe for, it's just one thing I enjoy doing.  Amid all the events of life-living and loving that will undoubtedly show up here, I'd love to share the design love too!
